Poems

The Red Red Rose

Here lies a red, red rose,
In my heart it tries to grow.
With the thorns I hold so tight,
Hoping the pain will tear my eyes.

A rose so beautiful and free,
Rain drops falling down to me.
Like life itself I feel,
Can this red, red rose be real?

But if my soul could change,
Take my red, red rose the exchange.
If I could open my eyes to see,
The red, red rose I longed to be.
